Art as a mirror,
medicine and
investment
Art galleries are essential for the promotion and preservation of art. Without them, the artistic thoughts embodied by the artists would not reach the eyes of the public. Galleries can be described as channels, mediators through which creators and audiences communicate.
Private art galleries, on the other hand, are places where works of art can be appraised and potentially purchased.
Art galleries and international art exhibitions and fairs play a key role in facilitating artistic communication. In this process of communication, the artist assumes the role of the broadcaster, responsible for generating the message or the artwork with the intention of transmitting it to the recipient or own ideas and imaginations to the general public. The act of artistic creation is constant throughout history and civilizational development, while the concept of art galleries as art temples is relatively newer.
EL-GREKO Art Galleryis one such local temple of art that has been successfully building the Macedonian idea of the extremely important role of professional private galleries in our country for 3 decades. The expertise of their team, the refinement in the selection of artists they work with, their mediation with the audience and the power they have on building and upgrading the visual culture among the wider audience and potential buyers of works of art is at an enviable level.
A very important role in the process of mediation and communication is played by the excellent, central location in the core of Skopje's urban fabric, on "Maxim Gorki" Street, which in itself speaks of precise probing into the key aspects of direct exchange of artistic energies with the audience.
In the gallery over the past years, works from the oldest painters have been exhibited, promoted and sold, through the founders of Macedonian modern art, the second generation of educated artists, the informalists, the newly figurative, the post-modernists, and up to some of the most contemporary young artists who are building their own visual career. The works of Lazar Lichenoski, Nikola Martinoski, Petar Mazev, Spase Kunovski, Dimitar Kondovski, Ivan Velkov, Nove Frangovski, Sveto Manev, Vladimir Georgievski, Ana Temkova, Konstantin Kachev, Milan Andov, Tatjana Maneva and many others were presented in the gallery.
EL-GREKO Art Gallery helped many art-lovers find the art they like. They enjoy the visual harmonies of these masters of the brush, pencil or sculptural form.
